Being a new kindergarten mom means it is time to help out with PTA events included, the SCHOOL CARNIVAL! It was so fun getting to know some of the amazing parents at my son’s school and seeing how everyone’s hard work created a carnival our kids, families and community could enjoy.
Thank you Oriental Trading for sponsoring our carnival decorations committee. I received some amazing products from Oriental Trading in exchange for promoting. However, all opinions stated are my own and I only promote brands and products I truly love. This post also contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience.
I decided to sign up for the decorations committee and put my digital sign making skills to work. We were able to create some posters for the games, concessions, auction and more to help carnival guests make their way around the event…with a little carnival flare, of course! Let’s go on a quick tour of the decorations our amazing PTA used to create a cute and fun event.
Chalkboard Signs
I love making signs on my computer, but pen to paper or chalk to chalkboard…not so much! However, Carol + Gaynelle created some adorable signs and chalkboard arrow stakes that were spot on for the carnival! AMAZING!
Posters and Ticket Buckets
Who doesn’t love coordinating posters and ticket buckets? We made some large posters to go on different games and booths and labels our ticket buckets to match. Having a hubby with a plotter at work and some full page labels did the trick!
Photo Booth
You can’t have a carnival without a fun photo booth for the kiddos to enjoy! We grabbed these Carnival Photo Stick Props, had a wonderful photographer and let the kiddos have some fun!
Concessions
Our food committee worked so hard to put together a concession stand at our carnival! We were able to use some table skirts and pocket chart signs to turn concessions into carnival deliciousness!
Silent Auction
One thing I learned as a new mom at our son’s school is just how AMAZING the women are in the auction committee. Not only did they find some awesome goodies to auction off but their created an adorable carnival-themed auction.
We also had some ladies work hard to create the fun popcorn balloon towers to bring guests inside for the auction, concessions and more games. With all the families inside…I think it’s safe to say that is worked!
Paint Bucket Signs
To create signs that could stand alone we used paint cans donated by our local Sherwin Williams and filled them with concrete and stakes to hold our signs. We also attached cute vinyl panther paw prints to show some school pride!
We screwed on some 1×2’s to the stakes, stapled on watercolor paper and attached our signs with a few hook and loop adhesive dots. Even with the wind blowing our signs and pennants from Oriental Trading held up pretty well.
Thank You Boards
With the help of some amazing sponsors, donors, vendors and an awesome PTA (including our amazing carnival chair and committee leaders) our school had a successful, adorable and fun carnival for everyone to enjoy!
Carnival Freebie
Creating the signs for the carnival was a lot of work and a ton of fun! They looked great and we plan to use them for years to come. If you are planning a school carnival, party or simply have a carnival theme you want to personalize you can grab an editable version of one of the signs we used by clicking on the bottom of this post.
