Read the story of Jesus’s choosing his twelve in The Beginner’s Bible. Learners ‘fish’ for the twelve with a magnetic fishing rod.
Learning Resources
To review the lesson, sing the song “Jesus Calls the Twelve”. Read the book Follow Me, Mittens by Lola Schaefer. Make connections with the book and Jesus and his disciples.
Small Groups/Center
Break learners into groups to rotate throughout the room.
Activity:
Learners write their name on the paper sneaker and decorate it. Display the sneakers on a wall that says “We’re Walking with Jesus”
Craft:
Use a painted footprint or draw a foot on the “I will follow Jesus” printable to take home.
Independent
Memory verse- learners trace and color the memory verse page. Cut the bracelet at the bottom and staple to send home.
Coloring page- learners color the page to remind them Jesus wants us to follow him.
