The Winter Digraph Sorting Center supports foundational phonics and decoding skills and aligns with Common Core, TEKS, and Early Learning Guidelines.

Common Core – English Language Arts (Kindergarten)

  • RF.K.3.A: Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences.

  • RF.K.3.B: Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings for vowels and consonant digraphs.

  • RF.K.3.C: Read common consonant-vowel-consonant words and words with digraphs.

TEKS – English Language Arts (Kindergarten)

  • §110.2(b)(2)(B): Demonstrate phonological awareness by recognizing and producing sounds in spoken words, including digraphs.

  • §110.2(b)(3)(B): Use phonetic knowledge to decode words.
