Counting to 50
Practice counting to 50 everyday using the strip. Cut, tape or glue and laminate as a single strip.

December Focus
Post the focus letters (Mm-Oo) and the rest of the alphabet,
numbers (7 and 8), shape (triangle), color (red) and editable sight words to introduce and review during the month of December.

Sound Match
Cut the trees and ornaments and have your learners match the
correct ornaments to each tree. Complete a couple each day as a whole group or in a literacy center.

Common Core

L.K.1a- print many upper- and lowercase letters

L.K.2c- write a letter or letters for most consonant and short-vowel sounds (phonemes)

RF.K.1d- recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet

RF.K.2d- isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)

K-ESS3-2- ask questions to obtain information about the purpose of weather forecasting to prepare for, and respond to, severe weather. Emphasis is on local forms of severe weather

Examples of qualitative observations could include descriptions of the weather (such as sunny, cloudy, rainy, and warm); examples of quantitative observations could include numbers of sunny, windy, and rainy days in a month. Examples of patterns could include that it is usually cooler in the morning than in the afternoon and the number of sunny days versus cloudy days in different months. Assessment of quantitative observations limited to whole numbers and relative measures such as warmer/cooler
